Ufa Archaeological Herald

The objective of the article is to study the development of archaeological research of the Paleolithic of the Southern Urals during the initial accumulation of data in this territory. The study area is limited to the South Urals, however, in connection with the development of hypotheses of the spread of the ancient population, the territory includes the Urals as a whole. The formation of hypotheses is presented in chronological order, with the accumulation of data on the Paleolithic of the region. Particular attention is paid to the works of O. Bader, since this stage is mainly related to his scientific activities.
