The article deals with the question of the use of crescent-shaped iron objects lined with gold foil and decorated with gold plaques. These objects were found in the pits near the entrance to the burial chamber in the burial mound of the Philippovskyi burial ground. By analogy with the inds from the burial mounds of early nomads in other regions of settlement of Eurasia, the plates from the Philippovskyi burial ground are interpreted as the arches of the soft seat fences. Thus, the saddle was placed at the base of the pillars on which the doors to the funeral chamber were attached, which can be considered as part of the ritual activities associated with the horse and its equipment and performed during the construction of the mound.
