The article publishes materials from the excavations of the Shipovo mound-soil burial ground (forest-steppe Cis-Urals) of 2008. This year mound 5 was explored a new section of the burial ground, discovered in 2000 – the III-rd group of mounds. The work analyzes the burial rite of a multi-grave mound (seven burials under the mound), in particular, attention is paid to the principles of placement (layout) of burials under the mound. Analysis of the burial rite and inventory allowed the author to conclude about the latest time of appearing of the barrow group III, in comparison with the rest of the mound part of the burial ground. The absolute date of the construction of the mound is determined to be within the second half of the III – beginning of the II centuries BC. Culturally, the burial rite of Barrow 5 continues the traditions of the Shipovo group of the Kara-Abyz culture.
