The article outlines results of Pyany Bor culture ceramic vessels analysis based on materials from the Novo-Sasykul burial ground, dated back to the 1st – 2nd cc. AD. 37 ceramic vessels were examined, which are divided into three groups: cushion-shaped vessels, jars and bowls, inside the groups they are divided into types (according to the shape of the body) and options (according to the impurity in the dough, which is visually recorded). An analysis of ceramic vessels from the Novo-Sasykul burial ground showed that 35% of the total number of products is represented by jugs that have direct analogies in the Late Sarmatian sites. 19% of vessels in the form of flat-bottomed bowls are also most likely of imported origin, or are their imitations. 65% of ceramics are represented by typically Pyany Bor and Mazunino / Early Bakhmutino vessel types. The presence of imported products in the burial ground (utensils, Sarmatian weapons, brooches, beads, sulgams) may indicate either constant contacts with nomads of the South Ural steppes, or the simultaneous infusion of a wave of migrants into the Pyany Bor population no later than the middle of the 1st millennium A.D.
