Summary:

The article deals with the analysis of a small series of slag and copper drops from the settlements of the Early Iron Age on the territory of the Bashkir CisUrals. The slag results from the process of melting copper and iron ores. The analysis showed that iron ore slag meets all the technological requirements typical for Northern Eurasia of that period i.e. metallurgists used oxidized iron ore and the process of melting went at very high temperatures in reducing atmosphere. Therefore the results of iron ore analysis do not show the source of such melting technologies in the CisUrals though the analysis of copper ore slag can clarify the picture. The oxidized ores used in the process have exact analogues in Itkul culture of the Early Iron Age and the era of the Final Bronze Age on the TransUrals territory. Hence on its basis it is possible that such technological standards appeared in the East and then reached the CisUrals.
